If so, then James River Hikers - Hiking With History is the group you want to be part of. We will walk the trails by James River and to historical areas all over Richmond. Our objective is for every hiker to have a good experience on every hike. How about join us?
Do you love England? Dream of going to tea with the Queen? Love reading about Britain's politics, history, culture, monarchy, or classics? I'm a devoted Anglophile looking to start a book club of like-minded individuals! We can meet once a month and discuss anything from Austen to Zimmern. Fiction, non-fiction, classics, modern works, whatever. Once we get a few people interested, we can work out the details of what/when/where.
Our dancers get together to learn dances ranging from the 16th to 18th centuries. We all have a love of music and dance and a shared enjoyment in learning about the history of these centuries. If you love to dance and socialize this may be the group for you! There are also events where you can opt to wear appropriate time period attire for those interested in costuming.
The 23rd Regiment USCT promotes a greater awareness and understanding of African American military service and sacrifice during the Civil War, their lasting contribution to freedom, and continued legacy and relevance to freedom and democracy. Through a variety of venues and programs, we will commemorate the role of the 23rd USCT and other USCT regiments in the Civil War and their continued importance in today's America.
