quick report on John Jay Homestead outing

The tour was most interesting--both the historical background about Jay's importance as a diplomat, and the house itself. Well worth a trip, for those who couldn't attend on Sunday. Probably the most significant historical site in Westchester.

Even if you don't wish to tour the house, the grounds have a lot to see, including an exhibit on farming in the early 19th century. A great place to take kids on a nice fall day. BTW, the grounds are *free*.
